IS YOUR GOVERNMENT E-READY FOR ARIZONA'S NEW ECONOMY?
The Institute for Local Government is developing a one-day workshop on
strategic planning for e-government in your jurisdiction. The workshop
is designed for governing body members, county, city and town managers,
state agency directors, and MIS department heads. The first will
be held in Tucson this fall. An expert in e-government from the UA's
nationally-renowned Management Information Systems department will
conduct the workshop. Brochures will be mailed later this spring, or you
may contact Alexis Hover at 520/621-2045 and
ahover@u.arizona.edu.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY FAREWELL
The Institute for Local Government has enjoyed a strong working relationship
with Santa Cruz County for 13 years. Two of the country's most dedicated
public officials retired after a lengthy tenure that ushered in significant
accomplishments for the county. The Institute for Local Government honored
Santa Cruz County Supervisor Ron Morriss and Manager Dennis Miller at
their final board meeting last December in Nogales.

UNINCORPORATED
COMMUNITY IN
ARIZONA
A new book with fascinating case histories covering everything
citizens would need to know about choices in local governance will
be published this spring. It will provide comprehensive in-depth
coverage of incorporation, annexation, disincorporation,
beginning a new town, services, finances and special districts,
among other topics. Nicole Fyffe, MPA graduate student and
